The chief of BJP's National Women Front, Smriti Irani yesterday lashed out at Deputy CM Ajit Pawar saying he was responsible for the Maval firing on farmers a couple of months ago.
She was addressing a rally organised by the city unit of BJP in Dhankawdi to support the party's candidate for Khadakwasla bypoll Bhimrao Tapir.

"The Maval farmers were protesting peacefully, but the police fired on them as they were protected by the Deputy CM.
We were expecting strict action to be taken against those policemen, but instead of that, they were only transferred to other cities," said Irani.
