It seems Kolkata Knight Riders' problems have not ended even after their campaign ended last week.

After the raid by the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department on their offices in Kolkata, officials are now trying to uncover the team's Mauritius connection trying to uncover the nature of funds that have come from the island nation.

"Things are not clear as of now but we have evidence that a major chunk of money comes from Mauritius. We are starting to probe the legality of those transactions and whether there are any FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management Act) violations," a senior IT official told MiD DAY yesterday.

The officials in Kolkata are also in constant touch and exchanging information with their counterparts who traveled to Mauritius two days ago to investigate a few companies who are alleged to have links with KKR.

The officials are also looking into the ownership of the team as they have found out that Red Chillies Entertainment, which includes Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta among others, have only 57% stake in KKR.

They are trying to find out who or how many people own the other 43%. IT department sources said there were strong indicators that IPL chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi has direct or indirect stake in KKR.
Shah Rukh Khan did not reply to our text message.
