Ekta Kapoor visits ISRO for her next web series Mangalyaan

While Bose: Dead/Alive is receiving rave reviews, Ekta Kapoor has already set her sights on her next web series, Mangalyaan. The producer visited the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bengaluru yesterday as part of the research for her latest offering, which revolves around the Mars Orbiter Mission, the space mission that was launched in November 2013. The series will be helmed by Nupur Asthana, who accompanied Kapoor on the visit.

Says a source close to the project, "The idea behind meeting the senior professionals at ISRO was to get a basic understanding of the technical aspects of the mission. The scientists helped them understand the details of the project, besides explaining the right technical terminology. Ekta took the first draft of the script along and specific instances from it were discussed with the head honchos there."

Inspired by real-life events, the show will shed light on the three women scientists who were critical in making Mangalyaan a reality -- Seetha Somasundaram, Nandini Harinath and Minal Rohit. "The series shows every hurdle they had to overcome to make this mission a success. It won't be a biopic, as the story will be fictionalised to some extent. Three powerhouse actors are being considered for the roles, but it's too early to give out names," adds the insider.
