BJP candidate and former Mumbai Police commissioner Satyapal Singh has won from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh defeating RLD leader Ajit Singh.

Singh, resigned from his post as Mumbai police chief in February and joined the BJP to contest in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections.


Ajit Singh, the 75-year-old Jat leader is the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president and has never lost an election since 1999 from Baghpat.

Satyapal Singh was once an officer on special duty to Ajit Singh, son of former prime minister Charan Singh.
