Elimination Chamber preview: Will John Cena retain his WWE championship?

The Elimination Chamber 2017 pay-per-view is all set to take place on February 12 in Phoenix Arizona. Let's take a look at a match card preview of the event.

John Cena vs. AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose vs. The Miz vs. Baron Corbin vs. Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship
John Cena ended AJ Styles reign as champion and more importantly became a record 16-time WWE champion after beating Styles at the Royal Rumble PPV last month. AJ Styles was already up for a rematch. SmackDown Live's general manager Daniel Bryan later added Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, The Miz and Baron Corbin to the main event in an elimination chamber match. Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton too, warned John Cena that should he win at Elimination Chamber, he will lose the title at WrestleMania 33.

Nikki Bella vs. Natalya
The feud between Nikki Bella and Natalya began way back at Survivor Series last year where Nikki was supposed to captain the SmackDown team. Nikki was attacked and could not wrestle, so Natalya replaced her. It was later on revealed by Carmella, that Natalya was the one to infact attack Nikki Bella. Over the next few weeks, Natayla taunted Nikki about her looks and her lack of talent and also stated that WWE superstar and Nikki's boyfriend John Cena would leave her one day.

American Alpha vs. Heath Slater and Rhyno vs. Breezango vs. The Usos vs. The Ascension vs. The Vaudevillains for the Tag-Team Championship
In December, a four-way tag-team-elimination match was held for the tag team titles which American Alpha won after eliminating Wyatt' Family member Randy Orton. In a rematch, American Alpha defeated Wyatt Family. After American Alpha issued an open challenge, many tag teams such as The Usos, The Ascension, Slater and Rhyno, The Vaudevillians and Breezango. A tag-team turmoil match for the WWE SmackDown tag team titles was scheduled.

Alexa Bliss vs. Naomi for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship
After her return, Naomi was scheduled to face Natalya but the latter was attacked by Nikki Bella. This prompted SmackDown women's champ Alexa Bliss to come out and insult Naomi. At the Royal Rumble and a SmackDown event later, Naomi pinned Alexa Bliss after which she was to defend her title at Elimination Chamber 2017.

Mickie James vs. Becky Lynch
During Becky Lynch's steel cage match against Alexa Bliss, La Luchadora came in to aid Alexa and help her retain the title. La Luchadora was later revealed to be Mickie James, who returned to WWE after seven years. Mickie James says she was forgotten all because of the Women's revolution. Becky Lynch defeated Mickie James over the next few weeks in a six-woman tag as well as a tag-team match. After that, the two were scheduled in a match at Elimination Chamber.

Randy Orton vs. Luke Harper
After The Wyatt Family lost the tag-team titles, there was animosity within their group with Luke Harper's interference. He was then pulled up by Bray Wyatt for his actions as the latter was trying to settle things in their camp. Fewe weeks later, Harper attacked Wyatt during their tag-team match. John Cena and Luke Harper faced Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt on SmackDown which they lost. Orton recently faced John Cena on SmackDown, and when Bray Wyatt interrupted, Luke Harper appeared and hit Wyatt.

Apollo Crews and Kalisto vs. Dolph Ziggler
After Dolph Ziggler turned villain and hit Kalisto after the former's match against Baron Corbin, Ziggler began random attacks on opponents after he lost to them. One instance was after he lost to Kalisto and began hitting him with a chair. Apollo Crews came in for the save. On the next event, Crews defeated Ziggler and was later attacked by him with a chair. Kalisto and Crews were then scheduled to face Ziggler at EC.
