Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has revealed to mid-day online that his grandmother, actress Meherbano, did not want him to become an actor

Emraan Hashmi will be seen on the big screen after a span of 2 years since his last release. He will be next seen in the heist drama 'Baadshaho'. Emraan believes that the break was extremely important for him. He admits that even though his recent releases didn't work, he takes it as a lesson.


Emraan Hashmi, who earned the monicker of 'serial kisser' says that he is not new to the highs and lows of the film industry. The 'Murder'actor reveals that his grandmother Meherbano, who was well-known by the screen name of 'Pournima', never wanted Emraan to venture in acting because of these same 'highs and lows' of the film industry. mran tells that Mahesh Bhatt has always said that if you are not good with the audiences, he will never accept you. The first acceptance of the audience is important. When asked about the hot topic of 'nepotism' he says,
Emraan's attitude towards nepotism is quite honest.He sbelieve that nepotism is absolutely prevalent in the industry. He adds that he got his first break due to his family connections. But he is quick to add that his uncle Mahesh Bhatt once told him that if the audiences don't accept him, he won't survive for long and the fact that he has been doing films for over a decade is due to his sheer hard work.


'Baadshaho' also stars Ajay Devgn, Esha Gupta, Vidyut Jammwal and Ileana D'cruz. The film is directed by Milan Luthria.
