Coimbatore: A final year engineering student was arrested today for allegedly murdering his classmate over cleaning a room, being shared by them in the city, police said.
R Santosh and S Dinesh, both studying in a private college, were staying in a rented room near the Airport. Santosh had quarrelled over issue of cleaning the room last night and he allegedly stabbed Dinesh with a kitchen knife, resulting in multiple injuries all over the body, police said.

Some others rushed to the room and managed to take Dinesh to the government Hospital here, where he was declared brought dead, late last night, police said.
Based on a complaint, police registered a case of murder and arrested Santosh, who was produced in a court and remanded to judical custody, police said, adding, he was lodged at the Coimbatore Central Prison today.
