Ayoze Perez put Newcastle ahead in the 42nd minute before Georginio Wijnaldum doubled the lead to raise the hosts' hopes of securing first league victory of the season, Sport24 reported.

However, Chelsea produced a resilient performance as they recovered from 2-0 deficit when Ramires fired a thunderbolt in the 79th minute before Willian levelled through a free-kick seven minutes later.

Chelsea are 15th in the league table with eight points while Newcastle are languishing down at 19th after seven games.
