These are the lyrics of 16 year-old rapper Sahir Doshi's new track that you can catch exclusively on Radio one FM 94.3 today

Sixteen year-old rapper and student of the Cathedral & John Connon School, Sahir Doshi hasn't forgotten last November's terror strike. He remembers hearing firing even as silence engulfed the streets around his Pedder Road home.

On the morning of November 27, 2008, just 15 hours after the terrorists took over Mumbai, he wrote a song dedicated to the much-talked about "spirit of the city", and called it Mumbai Never Dies.

"Music could easily be the voice of the people. My song is reiterating the fact that despite what happened, Mumbai did not and will not become dysfunctional." His lyrics, that reveal an intellect and undertanding wise beyond his years, brim with youthful passion.

"They can try what they want to, blow it up if they got to, spray like it's a monsoon, Mumbai never dies. They can throw a grenade in, keep the fires ever blazing, fast lane bullet chasing, but no, Mumbai never dies", Sahir sings.

"The government could not do anything to stop the carnage for such a long time, and that's what the song laments. I am not really focusing on the sadness of it all, but the unfairness. But we are still surviving, and that's what counts, because that's how Mumbai is," says the young rapper, who recorded this song last summer in Uganda, with the help of leading producer Steve Jean.

Catch Sahir perform live on November 29 at the Celebrate Bandra Festival.

Who is Sahir?
Produced by Uganda's biggest producer Steve Jean, Sahir Doshi's first single Rize which wrote and sung in Sawhili, created waves on the Kenyan and Ugandan charts. The teen artist met international singer Akon at a charity event, the latter even stood up and danced along as Sahir performed.

To listen to Sahir's 26/11 track, tune into Radio One FM 94.3 with RJ Prince from 7 am to 11 am, and with RJ Prachi from 5 pm to 9 pm.
