Sreesanth, the macho man?

Ever since he stopped turning out on the green cricket fields, former cricketer Sreesanth has been exploring various other and greener pastures.

The tainted former India pacer joined the BJP and tired his hand at politics, but failed to get elected to the Parliament. He has made since ventured into the film industry and is currently keenly awaiting the premier of his debut film -- 'Team 5'. 'Team 5' is a Malayalam movie that has also dubbed in Tamil and Telugu.

As part of his first attempt at being the 'hero', the heartthrob will be seen doing his own stunts and also dancing in the film.

Well, along with brushing up his dance moves, Sreesanth has also been hitting the gym big time to appear as a convincing 'macho sex symbol' on the big screen.

He recently tweeted a picture of himself with chiselled abs, which got RTed by former teammate Virender Sehwag.

Sreesnath posted, "Giving urself the best fitness routine is the best gift u can give to urself ..#willpower#motivation #getting stronger"

'Team ' will see Sreesanth playing a youngster named Akhil in the film, who is into bike stunts. The former cricketer had earlier been part of a dance reality show on TV.

'Team 5', which has been directed by Suresh Govind and the music has been composed by Gopi Sunder, has Nikki Galrani as the female lead. The ensemble cast of the multilingual film includes Pearle Maaney, Makarand Deshpande and Sumesh Krishnan.

Sreesanth is also reportedly in a movie -- Aksar 2, which stars Zarine Khan.

Sreesanth was banned for life by the Board of Control for Cricket in India after fixing allegations. He last played in the 2013 Indian Premier League. He was arrested on charge of match-fixing and was lodged in Tihar Jail in Delhi. In July 2015, a Patiala House court in Delhi exonerated him and two other players in the case, against which Delhi Police have gone in appeal. Sreesanth has played 27 Tests (87 wickets), 53 ODIs (75) and 10 T20Is (seven wickets) and was part of two World Cup winning teams, in the 2007 World Twenty20 and the 2011 World Cup.
