Former Premier League footballer Sam Sodje and his three brothers have been charged following a long-running investigation into a charity they run.

Sam, who played for Reading during the 2006-07 season, is due to appear in court next month.

According to The Sun, Sam’s brothers Efe, Stephen and Bright were charged with fraudulent trading following a probe by the National Crime Agency (NCA) into allegations of irregularities at the Sodje Sports Foundation (SSF). An NCA spokesman said: “The four were arrested on July 13 after a three-year NCA investigation into alleged irregularities at the Sodje Sports Foundation.”
