The Indian team yesterday sweated it out under the scorching sun during an extended practice session at the Colts Cricket Club ahead of their Super Eights clash
against Australia at the R Premadasa Stadium here on Friday.
The Men in Blue did some extensive physical training — fielding, bowling and batting. Cancer-survivor Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli were their cheerful selves and seemed to be enjoying the hard training, even showing off some dancing steps to Bollywood numbers in between.
At nets, the batsmen were seen practising countering short-pitch bowling.
Opener Gautam Gambhir took to the nets thrice while Suresh Raina batted twice.
The team later indulged in a boxing session with bowling coach Joe Dawes.
Meanwhile, former Sri Lanka off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan invited India offie Ravichandran Ashwin home for dinner on Monday. “We played together for Chennai Super Kings and know each other quite well. We both spent a lot of time chatting. It was fun,” Ashwin told MiD DAY.
