Chaphekar (42) arrived at Mumbai airport at around 7.30 am by a Paris-Mumbai Jet Airways flight. She was escorted in an ambulance from another exit to escape media spotlight. A CISF official said, "She was emotional and happy to reach Mumbai. On her way to Breach Candy Hospital, she met her kids and family members at an Andheri hotel."
Rupesh Chaphekar, Nidhi's husband, said, "We are happy and relieved to have Nidhi back home. She has recovered significantly from her injuries. Her homecoming is an extremely emotional moment especially for her two kids, who met her after six weeks."
