Astrology may have more to do with your pad than you think. Here's house horoscope to the rescue

Move over palm-reading, tarot cards and crystal gazingu00a0they might do nothing to cure a haunted house, unlike the less explored science of 'house horoscope.' The art has the power to trace your abode's past, present and future and answer household problems, says astro-architect Neeta Sinha. We probe her in detail.

Home truths: A centre table in glass and a metal showpiece infuse a sense of security, suggests Sinha

Not just Vaastu

Before you begin on Vaastu, Feng Shui and all that home jazz, the specialist in question simplifies what her subject means. "Every house, like every individual, has a horoscope, and I make sure that it matches with that of the people living in it," Neeta explains. In this business for 23 years now, she had learnt about this fascinating field from mentor Dr LN Kusuma.

"We wondered why, in a high-rise building, people have the same vaastu, but different stories. A research on 30,000 homes, offices and other premises has proved the effectiveness of this science," she asserts. To get the exact calculations, one needs to know the legal owner of the house, number of people living there, the bread earner and the prime source of income.

The basis of bettering one's house through this practice lies in bringing harmony without touching its structure. Small things like potted plants, colours, mirrors, paintings, water fountains, crystals and wind chimes can have major effect, but only after scientific calculations, says the expert.

Starry solutions

Need testimony to this lesser known faith? Bollywood biggies like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshaye Kumar, John Abraham and Kirron Kher are some of its followers. Neeta recalls her experience with the Big B - "I suggested Amitji that he change his house's name, but it was difficult to convince him of the positive results. When others saw the improvements, they started approaching themselves." But the lady's dreams lie Westward. "I'd like to chart out a kundli for Bill Clinton's place.

Also, Michael Jackson's home, because since he has changed base, everything in his life is going
haywire ."
