The assailant, who boarded the train at Kalyan, drove out the victim's grandson from the ladies' compartment, complaining that he was not eligible to travel in it owing to his gender. Imran, in his statement to the police, said that when the train entered Kalyan station, a man came into the compartment where he and Manki were sitting.
