From Barbie dolls to models showing off her designed clothes on the ramp, little Prachi Badve has come a long way in the city’s fashion industry. And she’s only 14. “I love to design clothes when I am not in tuition class or studying,” says the young fashionista. She loathes maths and science, but loves to draw.

The young fashionista, Prachi Badve, started her career at the age of nine with her first fashion show in Pune. She gained confidence by making tiny ensembles for her dolls before she took her creations to the ramp. Now, she’s 14 and runs her own boutique for her uptown clientèle at Kothrud.

This trendy Lehenga Choli is bound to make heads turn. Ethnic but sexy, the shimmering choli contrasts the black lehenga which looks very festive with sequins and stones. The icing on top is the black dupatta with danglers at the ends. Get ready to rock it desi style!

Very chic. We loved the flowy georgette asymmetrical skirt with the dressy waistband. It goes fantastically well with a subtle vest. With a chunky neck piece and a trendy bag to set off the green-blue monotony, this ensemble deserves a thumbs up from The Guide.

“It is not much of an ordeal for me to manage my school work and my designing work,” says the standard 9 student, who makes sure she pays attention to every little detail that goes into her garments.  We did a little browsing through the racks of her new store in Kothrud and found some great ensembles.
