The profound finds fewer takers than the profane on the Internet. So, we were pleasantly surprised to see images from world cinema being shared with their witty and beautiful dialogues. But then, the only issue was that we could not remember where those lines were uttered and if we had actually missed such lines in the movies.

The title of the Facebook page that the images were shared from made matters easier. Fiction Subtitles borrows scenes from world cinema and imagines dialogues that are so appropriate that even serious film buffs can be fooled.

But more than that this page seems to have a lot to say in itself. Rajesh Rajamani, who also runs the page Inedible India apart from this one, says that he decided that he had more to say than social satire and that would not be suitable for Inedible India. He says that world cinema allowed him the freedom to experiment because not too many people are familiar with the moment. “It is a wide spectrum with many really profound moments to reimagine.” he says.
