The first goal came from a free-kick to the left of the North Korea goal. Weverson's powerful low drive deflected in the wall and Lincoln perfected his run to meet the dropped shot before the DPR Korea's goalkeeper reached and headed into the net in the 56th minute. In the 61st minute, three quick passes followed by a defence splitting through from Brenner had Paulinho only to beat Sin Tae Song and complete the formality. Just after the first goal, Paulinho asked for a change, but the coach did not oblige. Having ensured the victory, he was substituted in the 64th minute by Vitinho.
