Fill your wardrobe before 2012

Make a trip to the multi-brand bazaar today and splurge one last time before you make your New Year resolution of cutting down on your shopping bills

It's Christmas season; a time for festivity, new clothes, parties and plenty of shopping trips. But if every New Year has you looking at your credit card bill in dismay, then the Twenty Twelve Shelf Bazaar may just be the answer to your problems.

"This is a pre-resolution bazaar. So before you make those New Year resolutions to cut down on shopping, you can come and splurge here," says Ajaaz Ali, co-founder of Vice Versa Events, the company organising the bazaar. It's a one-stop shop for those who don't have the time to visit a dozen boutiques and scan the streets for good deals.

In its first year, the bazaar aims at giving you a headstart on the next year's fashion trends.  So, as fashion accessories, jewellery, and Indian ethnic wear jostle for your attention, you can rest assured that every article is part of a new collection.

"This is a chance for young, upcoming entrepreneurs to showcase their trends for 2012. It's a preview," says Ali. And why the name? "It's simple -- you get to fill up your shelves before 2012." The two-day bazaar will feature handbags, shoes, jewellery, Indo-western clothing, funky Tee shirts and food. There will be 13 brands on display -- accessories by Adonia, hair bands by Bows & Co and handbags by Ampersands, Indo-western clothing by Javed Siddiqui and western outfits by Free Spirited. A brand to look out for is Light Bulb Inc, which will launch their designer collared t-shirt collection at the bazaar.

The bazaar will also have a food court with Arabian and Iranian cuisine dishes, including kebabs, biryani, and shawarmas. For dessert, you can sample chocolates by a company called Guilt chocolates. Vice Versa has included a section called mini-destiny bazaar especially for astrology and Reiki buffs.

"There will be face readers, crystal gazing, angel therapy, and tarot card reading by one of India's youngest Reiki masters Leesha Punjabi," adds Ali. The organisers have also roped in  musicians to provide entertainment for tired shoppers.

One lucky winner will receive a Levi's voucher, but you might want to check with the crystal reader about your chances of winning. If you fancy a shopping spree with food on the go and musicians to serenade you as you try on a pair of pants, Ali will give you 12 reasons to attend.
