A source informs, "The Board raised objections over the use of the word 'lad' (fight) in the same breath as Bapu (a term Mahatma Gandhi was known by).

Apparently, they were of the opinion that it might be misinterpreted as Gandhi was known as the father of no-violence and that it could hurt people's sentiments."

"The issue was resolved after the makers explained that the word is used in common parlance and doesn't refer to Mahatma Gandhi in this case.

The Board asked the producers to give an affidavit mentioning that the word 'bapu' in the song has no reference to Mahatma Gandhi or to any other person living or dead and is not meant to hurt anybody's sentiments," reveals the source.

Says producer Sagar Chaube, "All is well now. The song has been cleared. It was a crucial song for us as it features in all our promos and is the theme song of the film."

Says Kirkire, "Lad Bapu is an expression in Marathi that cheers people on. It has nothing to do with Gandhiji. It's about a Maharashtra team in a football match."

Stand By deals with politics in sports and has the backdrop of football and has ensemble cast like Dalip Tahil, Manish Chaudhary, Avtar Gill, Sachin Khedekar, Siddharth Kher and newcomer Adi Kothari.
