Yamuna Nagar (Haryana): The final rites of BSF jawan Rocky, who was killed while fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur, were held at his residence here on Friday.

'We tried to give them strength; we told them their son has done a great work. All the welfare schemes will be provided to them. We will try to provide them compassionate appointments,' said KK Dhulia, DIG, BSF.

As per reports, the 27-year-old constable of the forces' 65th Battalion, emptied his entire magazine containing about 40 bullets when militants attacked a Border Security Force convoy in Udhampur.

Three heavily armed militants had attacked a BSF convoy in Chaneni area of Udhampur district along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on August 5.

The militants, who were in army uniform, started firing indiscriminately on a BSF bus which was a part of the convoy on the way to Srinagar.
