Tihar Jail authorities say Sharma kept to himself on the first day of return to jail

It must have been a deja vu for Manu Sharma, as he returned to Tihar Jail on Tuesday.

Sources in the jail said Sharma kept to himself during the day and did not interact much with other inmates.

Some of the inmates said Sharma had told them he did not want any controversies so he had surrendered before his parole expired.

"He was definitely not in the best of moods when he entered the prison again. Before he stepped inside the jail, other inmates had come to know about what had happened while he was out on parole. So he avoided discussing the topic and refused to talk to anyone," said a jail official, wishing anonymity.

However, by Tuesday evening, Sharma's mood had improved slightly and he was seen interacting with other inmates.

Jail sources said Sharma watched news channels for a while but later became reticent again.

"Sharma's health is fine and he is doing fine. He came to the prison and has pretty much kept to himself. He has not complained about anything," said Tihar Prisons Public Relations Officer SK Gupta.

Cops say Manu was at bar
Meanwhile, the police officials who analysed the security camera footage from the LAP Bar and Lounge submitted a report to the Delhi government saying Manu Sharma had indeed been present in the lounge on Saturday morning. The report was submitted on Tuesday evening.

"The police have identified Manu Sharma in the CCTV footage and confirmed in the report that he was seen in the lounge. The CCTV footage shows Manu had come into the lounge at around 2.45 in the morning with Sahil Dhingra. The lights inside the pub were dim so identifying Manu Sharma was difficult. But at places we could identify Sharma and submitted a report to the government," said a police official, wishing anonymity.
