Fit for a king

Whether you are an officegoer or looking for a lazy lunch or dinner, royal china seems a good bet

The problem with restaurants in office areas is that they have to keep too many things in mind. They can't be niche or exclusive, they need to cater to officegoers in the area so an option for express lunch always needs to
be available to patrons, the ambience should be good but not so classy that it turns away the occasional customer who might shy away thinking it's too expensive, and so on and so forth. However, I must say that Royal China scores well on these counts.

The restaurant offers a stunning view

It's view-tiful
For even though it is situated in the commercial part of Nehru Place (in a building adjacent to Paras cinema
complex, which houses Asia's biggest electronic goods market and a wide array of offices), the location of the restaurant impresses. Up on the 16th floor, the view impresses from almost every part of the restaurant.

The view on one side extends up to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, and the other side is the beautiful Lotus Temple. The place also offers private rooms for family parties and dinners or you could try them for business meetings.

Full and final
When we walked in for very late lunch, the restaurant was buzzing with people. Most tables were full, and at one table, it seemed as if a business meeting was going on. Though we went at the time the restaurant was celebrating the Chinese New Year, we decided to check out the regular menu which had items from the special menu.

Hong Kong style soya noodle

Drink it up
The waiters here know their drink, and you wouldn't go too off the mark if you go by their suggestions of cocktails. We started with some nicely cooked Crispy aromatic duck and yummy Salt and pepper squid which was fresh and well prepared.

The seafood sounded promising so we decided to opt for it. So for main course, we ordered Sauteed prawns in chilli and black bean sauce which were decent but were hugely disappointed with the Red snapper that followed. It was not really up to the mark compared to the rest.

The Chicken with cashewnuts was decent, but the Sliced lamb with black pepper took the cake. We teamed these with the Yin Yang Fried riceu00a0-- partly sweet and partly tangy and the pairing rocked. Though they have a variety of desserts, we suggest you stick to chocolate desserts to round off.
