Actor Ayaz Khan who was last seen in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na will soon be seen in a new role in his upcoming film 'Hide-N-Seek' that will hit the theatres next month. Ayaz has a new lean mean look in the film that he's achieved with a strict diet and gruelling fitness regime. CS spoke with Ayaz about his fitness mantra:

Well, I need to stay fit to get work. Actors are meant to epitomise fitness levels in India, and staying fit helps you get more roles. As a kid, I was quite fat and used to weigh around 90 kgs but I started working on my body once I entered college. When you're fit, you look good with clothes fitting you well and all. So, yes having a good body does give me a high. I want to have a lean body. Beefy bodies don't look too good on screen.u00a0
One, two, three, four
I am attending dance classes regularly for the past six months. Dancing is a great form of exercise, and really helps you in Bollywood. I practise five times a week for an hour or more. My trainers Nilesh and Hetal have really worked on my flexibility. I do a lot of stretching. I am learning dance forms like jazz, Charleston, cha cha cha, hip hop and Bollywood. Dancing not only exercises every muscle of your body but is also a good cardio workout.u00a0
Just for kicks
Kickboxing is great fun. I used to do it regularly but have discontinued because of a thumb injury. I learnt it basically for self-defence but it's a great calorie burner too. Kickboxing strengthens your joints, ankles, wrists, etc and you can take more pressure on these areas. It also reduces your chances of injury.u00a0
Gymming
Since I started dancing, I have stopped going to the gym for cardio. I only do weights at the gym four times in a week. Six months back, I used to jog daily for eight kms at a stretch. It used to take me a hour to finish my jog. In sports, I occasionally play volleyball.u00a0
Eating right
I got a six pack for my next film Hide-N-Seek in only 25 days. This was achieved only through a strict diet regime. I eat every three hours to keep my metabolism levels high.u00a0 A bowl of muesli is my only source of carbohydrate in the day. I totally avoid rotis, bread or rice. Chicken, lentils and vegetables constitute my lunch and dinner. I indulge but very rarely.
