The Sangvi police have arrested five young men on charges of cheating a doctor from Aundh by allegedly forging documents for a six-acre plot in Pimple Nilakh and encroaching upon it.
The arrested men were identified as Sanjay Kaluram Dalvi (24), Pradeep Kaluram Dalvi (20), Sandeep Kaluram Dalvi (21), Shekhar Damodar Waykar (27) and Vijay Maruti Barguje (54), all residents of Pimple Nilakh, after a complaint was filed by Dr Prakash Veerbhan Kataria (59), a resident of Sindh Society in Aundh.
Kataria's complaint said six years ago he and a friend purchased a six-acre plot in Pimple Nilakh from Kaluram Sitaram Dalvi. He gave Rs 41 lakh to Dalvi on June 10, 2004 and the two parties signed a permanent sales deed.
The complaint said Kaluram Dalvi recently sold the plot using forged documents to another party without informing the Kataria family.
Assistant Police Inspector Sarjerao Gawde said, "A case has been registered against eight persons in this regard. The main suspect Kaluram Sitaram Dalvi, his wife Kamal and Anjana Sitaram Dalvi are absconding."
He added, "While Dalvi forged the documents and sold the plot, other accused Waykar and Barguje encroached upon the land by constructing a room and building a compound wall on the plot. Hence, Waykar and Barguje are also the accused and have been arrested. The absconding accused will be arrested soon."
