Celebs have gone ga-ga over Mediterranean diets and tourists can't seem to have enough of it. We are talking about Mediterranean cuisine, which represents a culture and promotes a healthy diet as well. It is made from ingredients found around the region including olive oil, bread, salt-cured cheese, salads, fish, fruits, vegetables, moderate amounts of dairy products and wine.

Club Oasis has recently opened an eatery where Mediterranean cuisine lovers can head to. Though it is located on the outskirts of the city and may take you a long time to reach but it makes up for it thanks to the picturesque setting. The furniture is inspired by Moroccan designs and the ambience includes soft lighting, walls decorated with paintings and seating arrangements that provide you with ample space.

A slightly overenthusiastic staff kept hovering around us but they are prompt with their service and recommendations. We started off with the Falafel (Rs 140), which lacked in fluffiness but the fresh mini pita bread they bake in-house as well as the hummus covered up for it.

The Patlican Lamb Kebabs (Rs 150) have a nice tinge of lime and onion alongwith cumin seeds. Since this cuisine shares many of the spices with Peshawari cuisine, we found the taste and texture to be quite similar to Chapli Kebabs.

The Charmoula sauce, which the Moroccans primarily use with shrimps, is also found with the Charmoula Fish (Rs 395) on the main course. It comes with grilled tomatoes, potatoes and bell peppers. The peppers add a sweet taste to the fish. It's unfortunate that they have only one seafood dish as the their preparation of fish was far more superior than the Grilled Mediterranean Chicken (Rs 350), which lacked tenderness.

Bruchettas, cheese, cured meats and stuffed zucchini make up most of the appetizer section. Some interesting combinations we chanced upon were Lamb Triangles wrapped in Wanton Sheets and Bombil Frito's with honey dip.

Salads dressed in olive oil with peppers and grilled meats along with thin-crust pizzas are also served. The desserts section isn't as spectacular and offers Apple Crumble, which is actually British, and Tiramisu. We like the fact that their drinks (including alcoholic ones) aren't expensive with most choices ranging from Rs 150 to Rs 350.
