Three years ago, the first edition of the Bizarre Bazaar flea market created a flutter when a group of five designers exhibited their wares. In its latest edition, it will feature 12 new city-based brands offering an assortment of goodies.
“The idea is to offer designer products for under Rs 1,000. At the same time, the bazaar acts as a platform for newer brands to introduce themselves,” said Mallika Desai Thakker, owner of Bliss. There will also be tarot card reading sessions by Shruti Chopra as well as desserts from Sweet Treat.
Some of the participants at the bazaar include the brand Wow Mom, which features hand-crafted crochet hair accessories. Apart from that there will be daily use ceramic ware accessories by Rekha Goyal who studied at the JJ School of Art. Art collective Kingdom of Calm will showcase hand-painted canvas shoes, bottle lamps and art prints while Bombay Merck will offer a range of posters, art prints, T-shirts and purses.
Lovers of quirk can check out The Klick Store’s range of handmade necklaces, bracelets and more. If fusion digs you, Durga Creations’ Indian ethnic contemporary line will please your ethnic sensibilities. Elements of pop culture, the bylanes of Chandni Chowk in Delhi and Mumbai’s packed trains inspire the handbags and accessories of DotPsd, a venture run by two students of NIFT.
