Two persons arrested for robbing and attempting to murder a south Delhi resident below the AIIMS flyover. Have committed similar crimes before
South Delhi police has arrested two persons in connection with an incident of attempt to murder that happened below the AIIMS flyover last week. Cops said that the accused are members of a gang of robbers who mostly commit crimes near flyovers.

A senior police official said that the accused have been identified as Akash alias Monu and Sanjay Kumar. The official said that the duo was arrested following a tip-off received by Kotla Mubarakpur police team.
According to cops, on November 22, a person named Issac Toppo, a resident of south Delhi, was attacked and robbed of his valuables by the culprits. The victim was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital by his wife. Cops were informed about the incident and an FIR in this respect was lodged by Kotla Mubarakpur police. "Issac had severe injuries on his neck and stomach. He works for a pathological lab at Green Park area of south Delhi.
According to the victim, he was returning home after work when he was intercepted by two persons. The accused attacked him with a knife and after stabbing him several times took off with his purse containing cash," said the police. The police team examined more than 85 suspects of similar profile. In the meantime police received important information that the suspects would be coming to INA colony near DDA Vikas Sadan on a stolen motorbike.
Cops conducted a raid in the area. "The accused were caught travelling on a bike without a number plate. On searching them a bloodstained knife was recovered. Police also found an ID card of Issac from their possession. They were interrogated and they broke down and confessed to their involvement in the case," said the police official.
