Tharoor has his fair share of fans. A few days after the IPL controversy broke out, Minister of State for External Affairs, Shashi Tharoor, has been asked by several fans to come clean on the entire controversy, on the micro-blogging site Twitter.

It is wonderful that he connects to us through his tweets, but, he should be more careful about what he is posting as he is a public figure," said Ramya, the Kannada actress who is a regular follower of Shashi Tharoor on Twitter.

It is alleged that Tharoor's ladylove, Sunanda Pushkar, a spa owner was granted a free stake in the new IPL franchise.
Bangaloreans are all in support of Twitter-friendly Tharoor who enjoys a fan following of nearly 7 lakh.
"People are more supportive of Tharoor than Modi because he is more visible on Twitter and he comes across as the face of youth politics in India.
Moreover, by tweeting he ensures transparency," said Tinnu Cherian, a 30-year-old software engineer, who is active on Twitter.
For Tharoor, controversy is no stranger. He has courted several controversies in the past due to his sense of humour and his infamous Tweets.

However, there are a few tweeples who believe that by using Twitter as a platform to express their discontent, both Modi and Tharoor made the issue 'murky.'
Don't understand
"Right now everything is very unclear. There is no clarity and it is difficult to understand, who is right.
He tweets so much so he might as well explain the mess," said Hrish Thota, a social-media professional, who tweets by the handle.
