Liquid nitrogen ice cream joints are the new cool on Mumbai's dessert scene. The latest to join the list is Nice Kream. The concept allows you to pick from a variety of flavours, which are put together in front of you and then, frozen using liquid nitrogen. Else, you can also choose from their set combinations.
Whiskey Misty with snickers, peanut butter and caramel
The small, open kitchen allows you to see the smoke rising as the ingredients are being frozen together. Some are injected through syringes even. However, this only adds to the visual appeal.
Each option is available in two sizes — L (large) and XL (extra large). We tried Combo 2, called Whiskey Misty. It had a mix of Snickers, peanut butter and a caramel syringe (Rs 180 for large). If you like peanuts and a little crunch in your ice cream, this one is delightful.
Koffee Krunch comes with chocolate strings, chocolate covered raisins and a caramel syringe
Combo 3 called Super Berry had dry cranberries, a liquid blueberry filling and a strawberry syringe (Rs 200 for large). It was a creamier and yummier version of the regular frozen fruit yoghurt. Combo 5, called Koffee Krunch, had chocolate covered raisins and a caramel (toffee) syringe (Rs 175 for large).
We loved the coffee flavour but could have done without the caramel syringe.

Set in the middle of numerous doughnut, cookie, brownie, frozen yoghurt and other dessert chains that line Carter Road, Nice Kream manages to make you want to come back for another scoop.
