For a bright future

YOUTH Congress leader and younger son of industries minister Narayan Rane, Nitesh Rane, shares his vision for Maharashtra's youth.

What is your vision for the youth?
The youth has immense capability, but are not encouraged in the right way. If we manage to show them the right path, the youth can do wonders. Guidance and encouragement is the key when it comes to youngsters.

Your plans for the people.
THE first and foremost thing Iu00a0 would like to do is to give people what they want. Most of the politicians remember people only during election time, but I would rather make sure that I am with them always. I will ensure that I communicate with them, hear their grievances and opinions, which will help us create a better society. The second most important thing is coming up with time bound solutions for the public. Most of the politicians forget people once they are elected, but I will make sure that I will hear them whenever they come to me. There will be no appointments and I will be available 24 hours for the common man.

Any special emphasis on education?
There is a need for complete up gradation as far as education is concerned. In most of the rural areas, students are learning things, which are of no use practically. We need to teach students practical subjects rather than teaching them history or biology, which will be of no use to them in future. They should be taught thingsu00a0 which will help them become better citizens. The kind of facilities been given to students and teachers in municipality schools especially need to be upgraded. Thereu00a0 should be more stress on the practical aspects of education.

As a politician, how are you different from the others?
When I thought of coming into politics, I decided to do things that no other politicians did. I want to make sure that I am not associated with any of the negative qualities of politicians that hurt the common man. For me, the common man will always come first. I will make sure that I can solve all their problems.

Do you think you will be able to do justice to the public?
Yes. I have observed the way my father communicates with the common man. It is far better than any other politician's way of interaction. Also, he makes quick decisions when it comes to problems faced by the common man. People have quite a few expectations from me, as I am Narayan Rane's son and I hope to see certain qualities of him in me. And so, I have decided to interact with the public like my dad does and not waste any time in solving their problems.
