"I have been living in Mumbai for 40 years, but moved to Tamil Nadu six months ago.

I came to Mumbai specifically to cast my vote it's my right and duty. My wife wanted to come and vote too, but the kids are too small to travel."

Arjun voted and immediately left on the 3.45 pm Kanyakumari Express from Kurla terminus.

105 and counting...

Age cannot wither her. Saraswati Jadhav, a cheerful and enthusiastic 105-year-old earned the respect of everyone at the Amboli polling station yesterday.

The great grandmom was carried to the booth in a chair by her grandson Vinayak Jadhav (43).

There was a minor hitch at the polling centre, when her age on the list showed up as 32 and her gender, male. Luckily, Jadhav had a new voter identity card and she could cast her vote.

"I don't want to reveal my vote, but I believe that the one who deserves to come to power, will do so."

Hale and hearty

Housewife Kamini Gujral (81) has always voted for the last 32 years from her Lal Chowki constituency in Kalyan. Yesterday, she was among the first to cast her vote.

While this is not exceptional, Gujral has had three heart attacks, yet never missed a poll.

"I do not believe in any political party. Nevertheless, voting is my right and duty and I will not miss it for the world. I vote for myself, not for the people who sit in power," said Gujral.
