Former GSB Mandal president slips to death

A former president and present committee member of the iconic GSB Mandal in Sion (Kahimath Samsthan) slipped from his balcony and fell from the seventh floor of his residence in Mahim.



Dinesh Pai (65), was a resident of the Fortune Heights building at Sitla Devi Temple Road in Mahim. On Saturday morning, he was performing his daily routine of watering the plants in the balcony, when he slipped and fell. He was rushed to Hinduja Hospital, but was declared dead before admission.


He is survived by his son, and a daughter.Vijay Kamath, treasurer of the mandal, said, “It is a very tragic moment for us. He slipped while watering plants. He was with the mandal for over 40 years. He was very helpful, courteous and approachable. He was the senior most member of the mandal and very dedicated to it.” An officer from the Mahim police station said, “We have registered a case of accidental death. However, we are investigating the matter from other angles as well.” u00a0
