Popularly known as Loose Maada, Yogish (19) is set to blaze a trail at the box office with a slew of films ready for release
He's the new star of Sandalwood.u00a0 All his films, released so far, have rocked the box office. Nanda Loves Nanditha, his debut film as a hero, was one of the few hits in the Kannada film industry last year. His latest release, Ambari, has crossed 50 days and is running to packed houses. He has proved that talent matters, not just good looks. Like a child who's been given his favourite candy, Yogish aka Loose Maada, as he's fondly addressed by his fans, is all smiles.
"Lady Luck is with me. Time has been really good to me and everything is going my way. I don't say that talent is not all that important. But I feel luck sometimes matters more than talent," says Yogi, who earned the Loose Maada sobriquet after the runaway success of his character in Duniya.

The 19-year-old reviews his career candidly. "I always dreamt of becoming an actor. But I never thought I'd get this far so soon," he admits.
Yogi, who's now busy shooting for Ravana, a remake of Kadal Kondein (Tamil) starring Dhanush (Rajnikanth's son-in-law), is being flooded with offers. He has signed as many as nine films by banners like Ashwini Productions. Due for release soon are films like K Manju's Yogi and Preethse Preethse.
He is now described as Dhanush of the Kannada film industry. "Dhanush is a talented actor and a huge star. I feel elated when people compare me with him. Since Dhanush and I have almost the same personality and body language, and the characters we've played are more or less the same, people may have come to that conclusion," he says.
Yogi has always played the boy-next-door. In films like Padde Huduga, Punda and Yogi, he's a regular guy who finds himself in extraordinary situations. "These are roles that come to me perhaps because of my ordinary looks," he says.
He has already earned a huge fan following after Nanda Loves Nanditha and Ambari. "I get lots of phone calls from girls but I don't have a girl friend. I'm so busy with my work that I hardly get time for all that," he says.
'Politics? No thanks!'
Yogi was seen at a public function organised by ex don-turned-politician Jedarahalli Krishnappa during the assembly polls last year. Is he getting ready for a stint in politics? "The function that you are talking about was not an election campaign. It was a function organised by Krishnappa to distribute rice and groceries to the poor. Krishnappa is very close to our family. I went because I liked the cause. I don't want to have anything to do with politics," Yogi insists.
