Freida Pinto's Bollywood debut stalled?

Freida Pinto’s dream of finally making her Bollywood debut has been doused with cold water. The producers of the film, helmed by Navdeep Singh, have pulled out of the project for reasons best known to them. The move has put the fate of the film co-starring Raj Kumar Yadav, which was to go on floors on March 25, in jeopardy.

A source informs, “The film was to be shot in and around Gurgaon. However, the corporate house, which was scheduled to back the project, is no longer attached to the film. The original producers — Anurag Kashyap, Madhu Mantena, Vikas Bahl and Vikramaditya Motwani — are now in a fix and are looking at locking another corporate house before the film goes on the floors.”

According to the informers, the makers are now stating that the film will go on the floors only by the middle of this year. But until and unless a major corporate house backs it, it could seem unlikely.

Says Bahl, “It is not true and the film was and is produced by our production house and is going on floors mid this year as planned.”

About the corporate house no longer being part of the film, he states, “We haven’t locked any studio as yet.”

Meanwhile a spokesperson from Eros says, “We are in talks with the production house not only for this film but multiple films. It’s too early to say anything as of now.”u00a0
