The 23-year-old unemployed woman would take the minor girl to her friend’s place, where her five ‘clients’ were allowed to have sex with her if they paid up
Five young men from Virar have been arrested for raping a 16-year-old girl many times, over several months paying her cousin Rs 1,000 each time they wanted to do so. All the youngsters were aged between 17 and 23 years.
The main accused in the case a 23-year-old woman happens to be the 16-year-old survivor’s cousin, who forced her into the flesh trade to earn some easy money. The first time, the accused took her cousin to a male friend’s home, where she was forced to have sexual intercourse with him. The woman then threatened to sully her reputation, to make sure she didn’t speak to anyone.

The survivor and the accused would stay in the same home, as members of a joint family in a village in Virar. Assistant Police Inspector Sandip Sivle of Arnala police station said, “The main accused wanted to make money quickly as she was unemployed. She decided to exploit her cousin, who lived in the same home as her.
She took the girl to a friend’s home in the neighbourhood, took Rs 1,000 from him and allowed him to have sex with her cousin. The 22-year-old boy raped her several times in his home, in front of the main accused.” Sivle added, “After this incident, the accused threatened her cousin that she would defame her, and forced her to keep having sex, with several of her friends.
All the five young men named in the case as accused raped her. They would have to pay the prime accused Rs 1,000 each time they wanted to have sex with her cousin. When the girl finally mustered the courage to tell her parents what was happening, they lodged an FIR, after which we arrested all the accused.”
