Los Angeles: Vin Diesel starrer 2014's action blockbuster 'Furious 7' won two top honours, including the favourite movie, while popular sitcom 'The Big Bang Theory' bagged three trophies at the 2016 People Choice Awards.

The second award for 'Furious 7' is in the category of favourite action movie. Channing Tatum won the favourite movie actor honour, while Sandra Bullock was named the favourite movie actress, said The Hollywood Reporter.


'Pitch perfect 2' took away the favourite comedic movie award. Kevin Hart bagged two trophies-- favourite comedic movie actor and favourite cable TV actor. Melissa McCarthy was declared the favourite comedic actress.

'The Martian' won the favourite dramatic movie award. Johnny Depp bagged the favourite dramatic actor trophy, while young star Dakota Johnson, won the favourite dramatic movie actress honour.

'The Big Bang Theory' won in the categories of the favourite TV show, the favourite network TV comedy and the best comedic actor trophy for Jim Parsons, his first at People Choice Awards.

It is the sitcom's third favourite TV show honour and fourth favourite network TV comedy since it first aired in 2007.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra won the favourite actress in a new TV series award for her show 'Quantico'. John Stamos bagged the favourite actor in a new TV series trophy. 'The Simpsons' was announced as the favourite animated TV show.

In music, pop star Taylor Swift was the lead winner with two awards-- favourite female artist and favourite pop artist. Ed Sheeran won the favourite male artist honour, while Nicki Minaj took home the favourite hip-hop artist award.

Meghan Trainor's 'Title' won the favourite album trophy and Justin Bieber's hit single 'What Do You Mean?' was voted as the favourite song. Queen of pop Madonna was announced as the favourite music icon.
