Los Angeles: "Furious 7" helmer James Wan is set to direct the remake of 1980s classic horror film "The Entity".
Wan reunites with the Hayes brothers who wrote his previous scary movie "The Conjuring" on the upcoming movie, reported Aceshowbiz.
Wan will also serve as a producer along with Roy Lee ("The Ring", "The Grudge", "Poltergeist"), while duo Chad and Carey Hayes are on board to write the screenplay.
The original movie is based on Frank De Felitta's novel of the same name.
It revolves around Carla Moran, a single mom who is abused physically and sexually by a supernatural demon. Barbara Hershey played the lead role in the 1980s feature film.
Wan will also direct "The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist" and is rumoured to helm "Aquaman" for Warner Bros.
