It's joy for royal challengers bangalore as they finally taste success in champions league thanks to West Indian star batsman's 46-ball 86 in 51-run win over somerset.

Home team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) yesterday thrashed English county Somerset by a massive 51-run margin in a must-win game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium to keep their semi-final hopes alive in the Champions League Twenty20 tournament.

Set to score an imposing 207, Somerset struggled to reach 155 runs for six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs after a defiant start by openers Peter Trego (58) and Craig Kieswetter (26) who put up a 42-run partnership for the first wicket.

The English outfit lost all hopes of successfully chasing down the target when Raju Bhatkal dismissed Trego after a fine knock, which included three sixes and six boundaries in his 38-ball innings.

Somerset lost wickets at regular intervals in the latter stages as they tried to keep up with the ever rising required run-rate and finished their innings at 155-6. After Dirk Nannes removed James Hildreth (15) in the eleventh over, Trego completed his fifty off just 31 balls.
