The singer gets candid about pregnancy, motherhood and her mission to help mothers living in extreme poverty
Spanish footballer Gerard Pique and hips-don't-lie singer Shakira, used the celebrity platform and the birth of their second child for some good. The couple teamed up with UNICEF to throw a 'World Baby Shower'.

Unique gifting idea
In eonline.com, the singer explained how she and Pique partnered with UNICEF "to throw a World Baby Shower that asked for gifts to be sent to places where they are not only appreciated, but where they can actually save lives."
Response to their efforts? "Overwhelming and emotional" they say succinctly. Now, the team Pique and Shakira have taken their goals a step forward. Shakira said, "With our second son, we wanted to take it one step further, and invite other parents to host their own showers that help benefit other babies and mothers living in extreme poverty."
Shakira then spoke about how much more composed she was about her second child, compared to when she was expecting the first, and how she hoped other to-be mothers have the same sense of security, opportunities… yadda, yadda, yadda...
Shakira ended philosophically, "My hope is that by the time my sons are adults, they can look back and see how even small efforts can have a big impact when multiplied.' Can we hear Gerard Pique say, 'that's spot on Shakira!'
