In a tragic incident, two school-going children were ran over by a school bus at Laxmi Nagar area of Andheri-Ghatkopar link road on Thursday.
The incident that took place in afternoon left one dead while the other was rushed to Sapna Hospital where he is receiving treatment. Locals said that the spot had caused many such injuries due to the absence of a spot over bridge or subway.

Both the siblings, Ashok Sidhhappa Murugan and Suresh Sidhhappa Murugan were returning home from school when the incident took place. The bus which ran over them allegedly belongs to R N Gandhi school of Ghatkopar.
While Ashok and Suresh were rushed to the hospital, the former was pronounced dead on arrival. His body was sent to post mortem at Rajawadi Hospital. Suresh is still kept under observation.
Local residents claimed that the absence of any alternate arrangement to cross the busy road had caused many such incidents in the past.
