What's it about: Connor Mead (Matthew McConaughey) is a brash, flirtatious, "I don't believe in love" guy who abhors relationships and commitments. During his stay at his younger brother's (Breckin Meyer) wedding, Connor makes an anti-love speech that has his childhood sweetheart Jenny Perotti (Garner) tugging at her napkin, wanting to believe that it's just a tough guy act. Soon Connor encounters the spirit of his dead uncle Wayne (Michael Douglas) who warms him that soon he shall encounter the ghosts of girlfriends from the past and even near future. What's hot: It's a chick flick, so if you're game for some mush-laced with loony scenes then the film is partly entertaining. Douglas as Connor's uncle is delightful and immensely loveable. Emma Stone who plays Connor' ex-girlfriend Allison stands out from the rest.u00a0

What's not: There's not much here that you haven't seen. McConaughey has had his fair share of romcoms and this one certainly doesn't sparkle. Throughout the film, there will be multiple questions popping in your head. Are all ex-girlfriends as ditzy, slutty and hateful as portrayed here? Guess, not! But then director Mark Waters isn't dishing a Sunday sermon. How can Jenny see anything worth loving in Connor when he's such a womaniser? It's sad to see a present day movie dumbing down dating rules, and diluting the essence of romance. Even though Garner tries to rise above the limits of her marionette character, Matthew's charm has definitely worn out.u00a0

What to do: If you are a sucker for romantic comedies irrespective of the cast and plot, then maybe this might serve you some purpose. For the most, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past is like a bad ex you need to erase from your life!
