Vice president of the Delhi District Cricket Association, Chetan Chauhan, warned the Indian cricket board to act seriously on Deccan Chargers skipper Adam Gilchrist's statement on the Indian Premier League being an easy target for match-fixers.

"I would say that he has given a warning to the BCCI and the International Cricket Council (ICC), and I think the BCCI should take stringent measures so that 2001 (match -fixing controversy) is not repeated," said Chauhan.

The former India opener said he was worried by the fact that a lot of people, who have no business to be around the dug-outs, have easy access to the players' area during the matches. Revealing his observations during the IPL games in Delhi this season, Chauhan said: "There are a lot of people around the dug-outs where the players sit. The franchisee owners are there, the other shareholders are there, and chairs are put up for the guests of the franchisees along the dug-out. That is not on in international cricket. We do not allow anybody at all near the players enclosure and the players dressing room. But here all that is happening," said Chauhan.

He said, the post match IPL parties are an area of concern as well.

"The players mingle very freely with the outsiders and there is no control over the type of people mixing around with the players," said Chauhan.

It should be noted that there were tickets on sale, which gave access to complete strangers to these parties.
