Jignesh was a prize winner of a contest and chose Mehul to accompany him. However, their visa applications were rejected on 'financial grounds'. The trip is fully-sponsored by the company running the contest.

A spokesperson from the Australian High Commission in a statement said: "We're looking into it and will contact the applicants to see what can be done." The 28-year-old Jignesh won an online contest last month.
