It has been an unusually hectic week for Huma Qureshi, who flew down to Berlin right after completing the last leg of promotions for Jolly LLB 2. But no amount of fatigue could take away from the experience of Berlinale, as the Berlin International Film Festival is better known.

Post the premiere of her film, Viceroy's House, Huma told us, "It was magical. All the love we got from people was truly special. We had a packed day with interviews and press conferences followed by the red carpet and premiere. There wasn't a moment to breathe, but I was jubilant."

The Gurinder Chadha film sees the actress essay the role of Aalia, a Muslim interpreter to the last Viceroy of India Lord Mountbatten. Huma walked the red carpet dressed in a flattering outfit created by London designer Paula K. This was Huma's second Berlinale outing after Dedh Ishqiya in 2014.

"The premiere is held at a grand venue called Potsdam theatre. What makes this more memorable is that it is a film about India's Partition. I am representing my country on a world platform. It makes my heart swell with pride."

Asked about reactions, she said it ranged from laughter over the "British sense of humour" to tears over the "ill-fated plight" of people post Partition.
