Grant Medical wins cricket tournament

Grant Medical College defeated Seth G S Medical College by one wicket in the final of the AS Chagla Inter Medical Cricket Tournament at the Dr NA Purandare Stadium in Dadar recently.

Batting first, GSMC scored 180 for 9 in 30 overs. Grant Medical College chased down the target in 28.5 overs.
Grant Medical's Dheeraj Karde was declared man of the match of his match-winning knock of 39 and received a Sachin Tendulkar autographed bat as his reward.

Former Mumbai Ranji captain Amol Muzumdar was the chief guest, who spoke about Prof Chagla's passion for the game and was truly happy that groundsmen were also awarded for their effort in preparing the pitches.

Dr Aadil Chagla stated that this tournament was started to provide a platform for medical and dental students to continue playing cricket in Mumbai. Ranji players Rajesh Pawar and Sunil More also graced the occasion.
