R C Ranga had gone to the police station late last night and slept there only. When some officials went to wake him up in the morning, Ranga did not respond to their calls.
Ranga was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Repeated efforts to reach DCP Sagarpreet Hooda for comment failed.
However, another senior official posted at the police station refused comment saying it would be too early to say anything. "I cannot say anything before post-mortem report comes out."
Sources also said that Ranga was not keeping well for the past some time.
