Chris Martin was seen landing at New York’s JFK airport on Thursday night, hours after his estranged wife Gwyneth Paltrow nominated him to take part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. The Coldplay frontman made a low-key arrival at the airport after disembarking from a flight from Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old’s arrival in the Big Apple came shortly after his 41-year-old former wife Gwyneth revealed that he was among those she was nominating to follow her lead and take part in the challenge.
“Hi, I’m going to alsa.org to donate money for ALS but in the meantime I’ll do this and nominate Chris Martin, Cameron Diaz and Stella McCartney,” she said in a video posted to her Instagram page. As part of the challenge, those nominated have a 24-hour deadline to participate.
The musician has been hitting headlines, following reports he enjoyed a “super romantic” date with the 24-year-old Lawrence last week in New York.
