The two-day Harris Shield Plate Group finals got underway yesterday at Marine Drive and the Vengsarkar Academy at the Oval Maidan with the kids showing immense enthusiasm.

At Parsee Gymkhana, HVB Academy scored 163 in 72.3 overs against IES Digambar Patkar Vidyalaya with Aqdas Siddiqui top-scoring with 56.
Left-arm spinner Atharv Dakway claimed 5-45 in 22.3 overs, while Aaradhya Shinde and Mavin Dawne picked up two wickets apiece.
In reply, IES Digambar ended Day One with 51 for no loss in 12 overs.
Ajit's fifer restricts St Mary's
At Islam Gymkhana, St Mary's ICSE won the toss but things did not go according to plan as they collapsed for a mere 71 runs in 34.1 overs.
Off spinner Ajit Gaud picked up 5-11 while medium pacer Anzar Mirza took 3-11.
Anjuman I-Islam Allana ended the day with 224-9 in 57 overs. Saifan Shaikh top-scored with 72 runs while Prashant Mishra stayed unbeaten on 42.
Shantunu stays unbeaten
RN Podar Santacruz elected to bat against Parle Tilak Vidyamandir (English), who bowled out the Santacruz outfit for 106 in 35.5 overs.
At stumps, Parle Tilak Vidyamandir reached 157-6 in 49 overs with Shantunu Behere unbeaten on 76. Left-arm spinner Ayush Sharma claimed 3-64 for RN Podar.
