Parle Tilak Vidya Mandir, Anjuman I-Islam Allana, IES Digambar Patkar Vidyalaya and Gokuldham High School emerged champions in the Harris Shield Plate Group through some impressive cricket yesterday.


Parle Tilak Vidya Mandir romped to a 10-wicket win over RN Podar who were dismissed for 153 in their second innings in 35 overs after Parle Tilak amassed 185 at PJ Hindu Gymkhana.

Podar's left-arm spinner Ayush Sharma's 7-74 went in vain as his side's batsmen couldn't prosper against a probing Parle Tilak attack. Off spinner Yuvraj Singh Bhati claimed 3-44. Parle Tilak raced to 77 for no loss to win by 10 wickets with Aryan More scoring an unbeaten 52.

St Mary's ICSE beaten
At Islam Gymkhana, Anjuman I-Islam Allana beat St Mary's ICSE in convincing fashion. After bowling out St Mary's for 71 on Day One, Anjuman totalled 231 (overnight 224 for 9) with Prashant Mishra staying unbeaten on 47.

St Mary's could only fare a bit better in the second innings as they were bowled out for 121 in 38.5 overs which gave Anjuman victory by an innings and 39 runs.

Off spinner Ajit Gaud claimed three wickets after scalping five in the first innings. IES Digambar Patkar Vidyalaya's skipper Aaradhya Shinde slammed 94 off 100 balls to beat HVB Academy on the first innings at Parsee Gymkhana.

Aditya Jawade was the second highest scorer with a sensible 87 as Digambar Patkar ended up scoring 313-6 in 67 overs. For HVB Academy, medium pacer Krutik Patel picked up two wickets. HVB Academy had scored 163 in their first innings.

Responding to St Francis' 142, the Goregoan outfit coached by former club cricketer Jayesh Kansara, batted on despite gaining the first innings lead.

St Francis HS captain Ankit Bhardwaj didn't concede the match and his decision to continue to bowl resulted in Gokuldham being bowled out for 373 just 20 minutes before the scheduled close.
